The Weekend / Today was a quiet day...Almost

I bought a bag of dominos the other day for $1.00. A nice price, I would say. We will be doing more math games with these.

On Saturday we had the annual Bicycle Grand Prix in our town. Riders from all over the world come and race. It was so much fun. The course was shorter this year so we got to see them all through the day. There were some moon bounces and a few games for the kids. They had racing for kids but mine didn't enter; maybe next year. We sat outside the coffee house and listened to live music and just enjoyed the day. I'll add some pictures in the next post.

Our day today started slow.

Tom has been reading; alot. He is reading for almost every subject, except math.

Katie did her Bible reading and both she and Ana did their Awana verses.

Everything was going well until after lunch................... I pulled out a math paper. M..a..j..o..r m..e..l..t d..o..w..n ! from K. I tried to get her to sit in a chair for a time out. I was not going to let her get away with telling me she wasn't going to do this, that, and the other thing. In other words, let her have her own way. No way! Well, it lasted "quite a while". She ended up doing an addition math paper. ~smile~ She looks at it and says, "This is easy." And I know it is. I'm wondering if we just need to get right into multiplicaton. I'm thinking she needs to be challenged.

As all of that was going on, Ana was happily doing her letter "F" papers and booklets and being very proud of herself. ~smile~

Do you know they now ask to listen to the Music Masters audiobooks? Yep. They love them.

Twice now they have listened to the cd from the book 'The Metropolitan Museum of Art: Can You Hear It'? It has classical music which matches the pictures in the book. The girls go crazy over it. Their favorite is "The Rattling Skeletons" which has the music "The Carnival of the Animals: Fossils. And, their most favorite and the most irritating to me, "One Cat Meowing" with the music "Comic Duet for Two Cats". In my opinion, this book is worth getting or at least checking it out from your library. (You might want to skip the Cat part. ~LOL~)

Becca had a HAZMAT class all day yesterday and then she ran with the ambulance co. all day today. She has a few more of the HAZMAT classes and a few more regular classes and then she should graduate. I believe she will then volunteer for the amulance for about a year before she can go to a paramedic class. (I think I got that right).
Well, time to get going. The girls are finishing up watching the Barbie Swan Lake video. Ana is so thrilled she loves anything with princesses or horses. Katie just asked if they can finish the movie and then she will go to bed and get up real early without a problem. ~LOL~
Have a great night.
