THE KIDS LOOK LIKE THEY ENJOYED BEING LOCKED UP!

more to come.....

Sick...Again!

The kids just took a short break for lunch and a card game so I thought I'd quickly write something.

This weekend I ended up with a viral infection and major allergies. Right now I'm on 2 medications and can't talk to well. The kids like that. Anyway, I think this was sparked by the walk in the woods down in Virginia. We were walking along one of the paths in Cincoteauge and I started getting big red bumps; hives I suppose. By that evening, Ana looked like she was punched in the eye. What ever it was hit us good. Ana's went away and I guess mine decided to stay awhile. Never have I had such burning in my throat that also went to my ears. I do feel like I'm getting better and I'm sure by Friday there will be a huge difference.

More pictures of Williamsburg are due on here so hopefully that will be in the next day or so.

Tom wrote a short journal page about the things he saw in Williamsburg. Katie wanted me to go back to the library and get the video about the indian homes but in was checked out. That made a big impression on her. I do believe though, that she thinks indians are still in the woods. ~LOL~ I'm sure we'll get past that soon. I tried to explain to her that they are just like us but she walked away. ~smile~

Ana likes to have conversations about horses. She plays, talks, reads all about horses...she thinks she's a horse!

Ben had an incident last night. He went to (college) class early and met a friend their. They decided to go somewhere and he drove off....with his art supplies on top of his roof! After a few minutes he turned around to find them but they were gone. I'm hoping, and praying that someone turned them in. They were around $150.00!!

Becca had her last EMT class last night. She must make up a test she failed. :( She missed passing by 3 questions.

Monday night, sick and all, I went to the disabilities meeting. This is a group that meets for anyone that has disabilities, taking care of anyone with disabilities, autism, etc. There was an older couple there that has custody of their grandchildren. One is special needs. So, as the grandmother was talking to us, (she wants to get the child out of the public school), she tells us that she got an advocate for the child and called the principal to let them know that she wanted to come in and observe the child in the classroom. Well, (I almost hit the roof when she said this), The principal said, "My man upstairs doesn't want her in the house".
!!!!
WHAT!!
I was told yesterday, that is illegal. What in the world is wrong with everyone?! All special needs kids around us need help and it is such a fight. Such nonsense!!

We Are Back From Vacation

We are home and getting right back into the swing of things. We had a great time in Williamsburg and Jamestown. We even saw the wild horses on Assateague Island! I'll post pictures and "talk" about everything later.

Have a great day. Enjoy your families!

Pulled Muscles

I woke up this morning happy until................I pulled muscles; Pulled the muscles in my chest and around my sides and top of my back. OUCH! I couldn't move. I couldn't even move my arms away from my sides. Talk about pain. Katie ran upstairs to get Becca out of bed and guess what? She wouldn't move. "I" had to walk up and get her. I needed a fog horn to get her out of bed. Now, I know that when she is waiting at the (ambulance) station for calls I don't think it's like that at all, she probably runs. She thought Katie was fooling...no, Katie wasn't she was crying and worried; she needed her baby doll right away to hold.

Well, Ed came home immediately from helping at the church yard sale (he got here kind of fast). He thought I was having a heart attack. No, I wasn't. We got to the doctor and indeed it was pulled muscles. I actually feel alot better now. I'm moving pretty good (not all the way good, though ) and I haven't taken anything, yet. I will take a muscle relaxer at bedtime. I don't want to have this happen again. Actually, if this is still bothering me at the end of the week I will go back.

I'm not cleaning, or cooking, just sitting here. I even had a long nap. Boring.

While I've been typing, Ed just called. He went back to the church yard sale. They made about/over $12,000.00!!! Can you believe it?! How awesome is that! The proceeds are going to church families that are out of jobs. What a a blessing. Many from the church gave tons of furniture, tv's, bicycles, clothing, etc. They still have alot left.

Oh, Ed wanted to cancel our vacation this week but I told him absolutely not! If I have to, I will just sit somewhere in the sun and he can take the kids to all the sites. I refuse to miss this vacation and I want the kids to have fun and learn as much as they can.

Enjoy the rest of your day. I think I will go enjoy the scenery in another room. ~smile~

I HAVE ALOT MORE PICTURES OF THE RACE THIS WEEKEND, BUT ANA IS SICK SO I DON'T HAVE TIME TO PUT THEM UP.

REMEMBERING 9/11

The girls did this experiment Monday. We filled up the glasses with water at different levels and then they tapped the glass to hear the sound.

I was looking at the site http://www.kizclub.com/ and found these traffic signs. We read the book 'Signs' by DK and made booklets for each sign. Inside Katie wrote what the signs mean. I wrote in Ana's booklets. The girls pasted them onto notebooking paper and put them into their health and safety binder.

The next booklets will be occupations. The pictures can be found at http://www.kizclub.com/ . This was not even planned. I thought it would be a good idea to learn these. The girls enjoyed this.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH 25 POUNDS OF PEANUTS??
LET ME KNOW. ~SMILE~ JIMMIE GAVE ED A LARGE BOX OF RAW PEANUTS. HE DID ROAST SOME LAST NIGHT. ED WAS TALKING ABOUT HOW MUCH HE LIKED THEM AND I THINK JIMMIE ORDERED THEM FOR ED.
THIS SCIENCE EXPERIMENT WAS TO SEE HOW HIGH THE RICE JUMP: TO SEE THE SOUND WAVES.
