Maple Syrup Candy and Icy Hands

Today and Tomorrow our snow forecast is 10" to 15".  We decided to do some fun in the snow.
We made Maple Syrup Candy ~without the turkey, of course ~
We used :
1 cup real maple syrup
1/4 cup earth balance (or use butter)
sprinkle of salt
Bring all to a boil in a metal pot; about 10 minutes
Drop a dollop of syrup into cold water; it should harden
"Quickly" take out to the snow and pour.  You can just do sticks of taffy or roll onto popsicle sticks.
Delicious

We also made "Icy Hands".  I found this on Pinterest.
drop some food coloring into a plastic glove; fill with water; shake and tie off with rubber band.
Ours are outside: some lying down and some hanging.
The girls cannot wait to pull of the plastic gloves.

Great for learning about color mixing
