Today we had bible study at our local church. It went great. We are studying James through Beth Moore. I know this is going to "rock my world" as she would say. ~LOL~
Afterwards we went down to the cafe to eat. Everything was going well for quite a while and then a lady came up kind of next to me behind me and asked me if the little girl with the "so and so" clothes on was mine? I said yes, and she started in on me about my daughter saying things to her daughter, and this is a christian church, we don't say these things at our home, blah, blah, blah. I wasn't even up out of my chair (this was going on in front of "many" people). I had no idea what was going on but did figure my daughter said something. I went to get her all the while getting a "verbal beating" behind me. I got into the play area and as I was calling for my daughter, this woman kept on going..on and on. I did say something (nothing mean or upsetting) and then got my daughter and walked back to my table. This lady would not stop. Welllll.....guess what? Nothing is one sided. I found out through my daughter and another woman that the other lady's little girl wasn't being nice either. I said something to her and she looked a little shocked. Well, my daughter ended up saying sorry while the other little girl just scowled at her and they walked away.
This was somewhat upsetting to me. No one, not anyone is perfect. I wish people would think before they act/say anything about "their family" doesn't do "this or "that". Because, there may come a time that will happen and they will eat their words. Also, don't start yelling at another parent about being christian etc. That actually embarrassed me and for all the other people there. Some were probably turned off by that. That may have been the deciding point for someone who was on the edge of not going back to the church.
Christians are not perfect and yes little children will sometimes do things or say things they are not supposed to, just as an adult does.
I've been raising children for almost 27 years and it never gets easier. If there is an easy way to stop kids from being naughty, please let me know. ;)
After this episode, I went to the dentist. While I was there I got novocain (sp?) and then felt like I couldn't swallow. I started to panic thinking I was going to choke to death. After about 6 cups of water I made it through. I have never really had a problem with this except for the last few years. Maybe I'm just getting old.
Now, here's the good part. After the dentist, I took the girls to the local thrift bookstore. While in there, they found some books and wanted to pay for them. I told them to wait because I wanted to check the total amount and I was still looking. Well, an older gentlemen walked up to me and said that he would like to contribute to the books they were buying. I had said that I had the money but he really wanted to. He gave the girls $5.00 (!) then he walked out of the store. He made my day. After those previous episodes that was an awesome way to finish our afternoon. ~smile~ (Tom said he was an angel)
Have a good night.

Last but not least, we have Ana... she is a stinker. She is stubborn and tough, but loving. She loves her family so much. She is now realizing how to do math. During this weekend, she surprised me by doing math pages all by herself. She was so excited. She enjoys cursive writing and especially learning about the states. We started doing a state a day (or close to it). We are using booklets from www.homeschoolshare.com . Ana also likes to wear skirts or dresses. That is her thing. She would also wear all the jewelry that would fit around her neck and arms if you would let her.
