On Friday, the kids (Becca, Tom, Katie, & Ana), and I saw a dog get hit by a car. We took the owner and the dog to a vet and had a terrible experience. The vet would not take care of Gizmo until the owner got about $600 - $700 together...for a down payment!!! We sat there for over an hour. Finally I told the owner to get her dog and go to our vet. He got an IV right away and he didn't have any broken bones or anything serious. He was home in a few hours. This vet charged a very reasonable amount and never even asked for payment until services were complete.
There is more to the story, but I really don't want to get into it. Unfortunately, My kids saw some very greedy people that day.
Now, though, they have a new friend, Gizmo and his sister Sasha. (Sasha wouldn't sit still for a picture). :)

What a darling doggie! So cute. Shame on the vet. You think he would care about animals not money!
