Mikey is gone

I haven't posted for a few days. Mikey the hamster had died. After the kids were playing with him (watching him walk around), Becca put him upstairs. I went up about an hour later and he was "gone". He died in the corner of his home. I think he was sick. He was to calm for a rodent.
We now have a guinea pig. I'll post pictures later. :)

So Tired, AND....

CAN YOU GUESS WHO THIS IS????
The two girls ended up in our room last night and I literally didn't get any sleep until "early" morning. They are not going to like me tonight. They will be put back in their rooms or, they can sleep in a sleeping bag in another room. No more! We went through this in the summer and it was rough.

We did school work but I ended up falling asleep on the chair in the living room for about 2 hours. I'm going to get dinner ready and then we will make some more marbleized paper but this time we will use the liquid starch. I'm thinking the colors will come out darker and better. We will see....

Fun and our new addition

Today we made marbleized paper with shaving creme and paint. It was fun and they made a mess. After my shopping trip this week, we will try this again with liquid starch.

This was the other day. Tom had received a science kit to make quicksand. As you can see, here too, they are a mess. (I have fun, messy kids)

This is Tom making slime from another experiment kit. They had it (looking like) it was coming out their noses!!! (I thought I took a picture but I guess not...that's a good thing)(Look at Tom's nice eyelashes...what woman wouldn't want them!!)
Our new addition to the family. This is Michaelangelo, "Mikey" for short. He is a very good hamster that actually stays put and sits on your lap. I believe the young girl at the pet store must have held him quite a bit. After all the fun we had today Katie fell down the steps. She has a "boo-boo" near the back of her hip. Hearing her now, you would never know that she fell. She is laughing and having fun playing with the others.
I had to take her to get bloodwork today. They took out 9 vials of blood and needed 4 more. The blood wouldn't come out any more. She was very good and didn't even cry. We adults would have probably fainted. (For what it's worth, the lady said each vial was a teaspoon).
BYE!

After I had posted the above, Becca came down and told me Ana lost the hamster. After much "talking" to, Ana said he was under some blankets in Tom's room. In fact, he was under blankets outside of his cage....sound asleep. I'm very thankful for a calm hamster. I was picturing the dog eating it, It running around the house, or falling through the upstairs laundry room open walls..(Ed is working on that room). ~relief~

Oh My....

I feel so busy today. Tom and I packed for his winter retreat. Hopefully he will remember to bring everything home. The kids are now outside playing in the snow. I have to take Ben to work. I have laundry and dishes to do. I have to take Katie to the doctor and get Tom to church for the bus by a certain time. I have to make dinner and so I guess school is not happening today. ~smile~ I'll consider this day 'Physical Education Day' since they are playing hard. ~grin~
Maybe I'll have more snow pictures later, we will see. I'm sure you all are getting tired of seeing my kids playing.
Have a good day.
