Christmas Fairie Boxes

For Christmas I made the girls another fairie box with fairies. (you can search on this blog for last Christmas to see the other)
Anyway, I took pictures of a few. I couldn't get very good pictures but here are a few of the fairies. Both girls got 8 of them. They are made from butterflies from the dollar store; 4 in a pack-plastic. I painted sparkle paint on them and hot glued on laminated pictures of old movie stars I printed from the net. I cut off the legs and antennas. I don't have the sites name at the moment.

This is Katie's box
For each of them I found the boxes at the dollar store and glued on leaves and flowers found there also. They turned out very pretty.

Going Healthy

For Christmas our oldest son gave us a juicer and my mom gave us a blender (probably my 10th blender in my married life, LOL!) Anyway, today we had a carrot, apple, banana smoothie and "Wow"! was that tasty. Ed likes to have grapefruit juice, so on Christmas Eddie made us some but left the rind on...What a punch! Our lips were 'pursed' for quite sometime. LOL!

These are excellent Christmas gifts which will get a lot of use. My mom also bought me a mixer so I can keep the gluten free baking away from the wheat baking. It seems, though, that we are going more towards the gluten free now. Ed has now tasted some good foods. ~smile~

Yesterday, I made peanut butter / carob cookies with no flours. They are delicious. I'm going to keep converting recipes and compiling them into a recipe book which will be especially for Katie. After each recipe is written I write 'I Love You' at the bottom. ~smile~

The kids are enjoying their time off. Well, most of it. I have had Tom read some of his books...it won't kill him, he will live. He can't sit on Xbox 360 forever.

Katie and Ana love playing in the snow (you can see pictures below). We had their friend Cassidy over yesterday and they had a good time. I enjoyed "quiet" time with her mom, Liz. We did a lot of laughing and enjoyed a cup of tea. Hopefully we will be doing that more often.

Time to get moving with my day.

Enjoy Today

Sorry for the spelling mistakes in the last post. I can't figure out what button I hit on my keyboard. It keeps erasing my letters......

Baking

I started baking cookies yesterday.

First,I'm baking the gluten free/dairy free/soy free cookies for Katie. They are turning out very well. I've make Raspberry-Almond Thumbprints, Chocolate Covered-Peanut Butter-Koala Krisp Balls rolled in sprinkles and a brownie with marshmallows, pb, Kola krisp and choclate. I have Chocolate Crinkles in the refrig., going to make Oatmeal Choc. Chip Cookies and then I'm going to convert a recipe for Orange Crisps. I found this recipe in a Christmas Cookie magazine from 1991.

Becca said she wants to make the "regular" cookies this week. And I have to bake Gingerbread cookies with Katie. This is becoming a tradition with her.

Have a good day.

Exciting News

I've actually not been on here for a while because I didn't feel like writing anything. Yeah, I got a little bored. But, I'm back.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
~~~~~~~~~ I HAVE AN ANNNOUNCEMENT~~~~~~~~~
Ed and I are going to be grandparents!
Bobby and Bethany are due with their first sometime in June. We do not have an official date yet.
I am so excited! !
Someone asked me what we wanted to be called, like grandmom, grandpop, etc. At first I didn't want to be called "Grandmom" but you know, I wouldn't mind it one bit. Ed wants to be called "Grandpop"; plain and simple. ~smile~
Gotta Go!
Maybe I'll write later.
