Another Day

It should be another quiet day today. The girls are slowly getting better. They are actually starting to fight with each other so that's a good sign, sort of.
Ed took the boys to a men's breakfast and I believe the boys will be playing flag football. I don't think Ed will attempt it but we will see.
Another Rainy day today. Hopefully, soon, this rain will turn to snow so we can go out sledding and have some fun.
Going to walk on the treadmill now. ...
Have a fun day!

Quiet Day

Today is going to be a quiet day. It's just me and 3 kids. Sickness is still around and everyone is tired.
Last night I went to a ladies missions banquet. It was so nice to sit there and have people talk to you and laugh. Everyone was so down to earth but also you could see the love of Jesus in there. The missionary who spoke is a survivor of breast cancer. She has a wonderful spirit about her. She has used her cancer in a good way by sharing the gospel.
Time to get moving ... Have a nice day.

Some Pics.

Blah!

Last night after church Katie came in "dragging" saying her head hurt. You guessed it! She has a fever today and is coughing. Becca wants to sleep in because her head hurts. And most of all, my head hurts because my washer broke again, and money is flying out the window before it even gets here!
One good thing, I had a nice dark chocolate candy bar last night...Yum! That will help any woman feel better. ~smile~

Slow Day

Ana was very hot last night. Actually felt like she was burning. I couldn't get her to take her tylenol (She clamps her mouth shut), or even a sip of her drink but she slept on and woke up cool. She is playing and coloring, ate and drank a little bit, but I can tell she doesn't feel good. She is getting warm again. I'm sure it will be a few days until she's better.
Tom and I will be working on his lapbooking today. Ben and Becca are doing their regular school work and Katie is going to do her phonics and math.
It has been raining since last night and I was just informed that Tom's bedroom ceiling is leaking. The other day our bathroom ceiling was leaking. Would be nice if money leaked from the ceiling. LOL!!!!
Ed can't be contacted because he was called in for jury duty. Hopefully this isn't going to take long. $9.00 a day just won't make it around here.
I'm going to get moving now. Have a great day.

Sick

Well, Ana is sick. She was playing with her play-doh last night and fell asleep. She has a fever and feels yucky. She is watching tv, though. We are watching 'Race to Witch Mountain' which is pretty good. (Some of us watched it last night)
This is a busy week so sickness is the last thing on my mind. Oh well, we'll deal with it, as we always do.

Tom made these crafts for his Henry VIII lapbook.
I had Tom make the house to flip open just in case he does some writing on Tudor homes.

Zoo Pictures

This slug was from our backyard. Katie and Ana thought it was cool.

Same sloth from above.

It was hard getting pictures because the animals were in cages. This was the new Bucks County Zoo in Warminster. www.buckscountyzoo.com I think there were a total of 30 animals. It was in a building and I was so surprised at how clean everything was. You couldn't have guessed there were animals in there. The animals are very well taken care of and loved. Did you ever see a porcupine up close? Well, they have an African porcupine which was so cute! The one woman went into his cage and scratched him...he was like a puppy licking her hand and make little noises. She then played with him with a large bag and he was running around having a great time. I actually have this on video. Maybe I will put it on later.
They are trying to get this to be the first Bucks County Zoo. I think they are doing a great job.
I'll post more later.

Zoo and More

Today we are going to a new zoo in the area. It doesn't have large animals but does have monkeys, other mammals, reptiles, arachnids, and amphibians. It doesn't open until later in the day so I decided to cancel school this morning and clean. Dishes are done, Becca vacuumed, kitchen is swept, books are put away, most of the beds are made and potatoes are in the crockpot for dinner. I'm out of dusting supplies so that will be later. I still have to go grocery shopping and figure out the rest of dinner.
The books that got put away were just given to me. Eddie is moving into a home where the man just left everything. Eddie said there had to be 2,000, yes that's right, 2,000 books!! He picked out 4 boxes of some very beautiful ,brand new looking history books. They donated all the rest to a thrift store...AHHHHHHHH!!! How I would have loved to look at them. That's ok. What he gave me will be great for schooling.
This morning we had some drama. Ana must be the lead drama queen in this area. LOL! She wanted orange juice and she wanted it NOW! What she does is: starts to whine, starts crying out that she is dying, falls on the floor, rolls her eyes back and acts like she is dead (with her tongue hanging out). LOL!! We will have to get a video of this. We just laugh at her because it is so funny. She sure doesn't think so.
Have a nice day everyone. We will post pictures of the zoo later.

Wonderful Morning (sarcasm here) + pictures

Becca took these pictures this morning.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I started every thing late this morning. I got up late, went for a walk late, and of course the kids started work late. Katie was doing fine until she started to defy everything I wanted her to do. It didn't last to long. ~smile~
Becca just took Katie, Ana, and Buddy (the dog) to the park to take pictures. I hope they cooperate.
Tom has done his Latin (with some defiance), Spanish (2 different courses), and his math. Now he's getting ready to go to choir.
I will be taking the kids to the church that has a huge play area inside. We haven't been there in quite some time. They like to play and I like their Cafe Mocha's!
Becca had made orange juice and left in on the counter under the window (without lid). My camera was sitting on the window sill when all of a sudden, BANG! I heard a noise and couldn't figure out what it was. I then went to pour some juice and there it was, at the bottom of the juice! I saved my memory card but I'm not to sure about the camera. I'm going to let it dry out until tomorrow and see what happens. At least I can borrow Jon's or Becca's.

I have to get moving now. Have a great day everyone.

P.S. Ben got his driver's license yesterday!

My New Stove

I finally got a new stove. Tonight I cooked (all at the same time), a 9x13 pan of gluten/casein free cornbread (excellent!), a extra large sheet of chicken and about 20 baked potatoes... I made that many so we cooked use them for breakfast. If I had a 3rd rack I probably could have fit 2 casseroles in there also.
I didn't even eat any of it. Becca had earned some money kitten and house sitting so she wanted to take me out to dinner tonight. We had a sandwich, chips, coffee and delicious raspberry bars.
She had even bought we a coffee in the morning....she loves me. ~smile~
